Hello, my name is Jane Germano and I'd like to introduce myself and our company to you. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Vocational Home Economics. I have taught in Germany, New Mexico, Deltona and Panama City, Florida, as well as here in Colorado Springs. My husband, Geoffrey Germano, was in the United States Air Force for 22 years causing us to move every 3 to 5 years. Moving was my least favorite thing to do. However, because of his service, we were fortunate to have great experiences living in Germany, Florida, New Mexico, and Colorado. Traveling in our new locations was a wonderful adventure.
When we moved to Colorado Springs, I wanted to do something different. I thought it would be exciting to open a business but still work with children. I thought it would be a great marriage to work with younger children and have a business. I was very fortunate to have a husband that encouraged and supported my idea. Hence, the birth of The Complete Child, Inc. doing business as Young Scholars Academy!
Young children have a wonder of the world around them. They are curious, have a desire for exploring their surroundings, and are interested in everything. Young Scholars Academy’s goal is to expose children to as many learning experiences as possible.
If Young Scholars Academy’s teachers can give each and every child in our care the love of learning, we have accomplished our goal.
Thank You!
Jane Germano, Owner
My name is Jenn Winters. I have the incredibly blessed opportunity of being the Executive Director of Young Scholars Academy. My journey with YSA started on March 30, 2001. I've been able to meet so many faces, and touch so many lives Just like in 2001, Young Scholars Academy was and is different from other typical "daycare" centers. For this reason, I chose it after much searching for my three children. They are older now but have wonderful memories of teachers, field trips, lessons, meals and songs.
As I mentioned I am a mother of three and married to my best friend. I have owned and own a couple of other businesses in the Colorado Springs community. I have completed my degree specifically in Early Childhood Education! I also consider myself an advocate for the field with a focus on teacher professional development and growth. My goal is to connect with the teachers so they can better connect with your kids!
When I began in the field of Early Childhood Education I was a teacher’s aide. I worked my way up watching, learning and growing. I can cook meals for hundreds, drive the school bus and change diapers. I think it is important to know and remember all pieces of the puzzle when creating quality. I believe that when we are all connected, children win. Being the Execute Director is not a job, it is truly a calling. I am passionate about creating the best environment for all.
My vision, within our vision, is to help people achieve their dreams, to make a positive impact on their lives, whether they are one or thirty seven.
Thank you for reading!
Ms. Jenn, Executive Director
Hello my name is Jordan! I have been here with Young Scholars Academy since I was 4 years old! I grew up here at the school, I did the Preschool, Pre-K program, and Summer Camp. When I got older and couldn't attend anymore I took out the trash and even cleaned the toilets. I'm one of those kids that just never left. Now my goal is to connect with families and their children so that they can have a great upbringing at Young Scholars just like I did. I guess you could say that a positive early childhood education is that important to me!
Being that it is my family’s business I have many roles here doing anything and everything that needs done, but technically I am the Assistant and Marketing Director. I have schooling specifically in Early Childhood Education and Marketing.
I love racing kids down the hallways and capturing the school's moments throughout the day. Young Scholars Academy truly is my second home!
Looking forward to connecting with you!
Ms. Jordan
