Our Founders | Ms. Jane & Mr. Geoff
Our Founders, Jane & Geoff Germano founded Young Scholars Academy in 1995. Since they were unable to have children of their own, they still wanted to have that family feeling and created a home for so many for years and years to come! While Mr. Geoff is no longer with us, having passed in 2012, and Ms. Jane enjoying her retirement years, we will never forget their impact and opportunity they have provided to so many families here in Colorado Springs. The Beginning Years To Now.
Would you believe it if we told you we started our program in a strip mall? Anyone who has walked into the building today would probably think we were fibbers! This most definitely was how we started out in Colorado Springs in 1995! It was in 2008 we broke ground into the beautiful building you all know and love today!
Our building is a second home to over 10 classrooms with ranging age groups from 6 weeks to our school agers! It’s a proven theory that children strive when they are in environments have warm, cozy colors and conditions. We couldn’t stand the thought of having “hospital walls” so we’ve customized our classrooms to be just those things!
We looked at commercial centers, home centers, and private nannies to make sure we found the best fit for our family. – Jen C.
